There’s one thing we’ve been after for ages and finally after all these years we have one and it’s a Dyson DC40 vacuum cleaner. This may finally give us the enjoyment in doing the household chores we’ve been after.
Over the years we’ve always had a cylinder style vacuum cleaner but this time we thought we’d give an upright the chance and it gives a whole different feel to what we’re used to.
The first impressions are that it looks much nicer than any other vacuum, just look at it, it’s like a piece of art. When it arrives it takes a little bit of assembly but this is just a matter of clicking a few things in here and there so you won’t be breaking into a sweat.
Now the important thing is how good is it? Does it make things easier?
Well in a word yes, the ball makes it very easy to move around and it’s a lot more powerful than our old one and you can tell that just buy the amount of dust, toys and children it sucks up. We have a few different floor types in our house and with the Dyson DC40 it’s just a case of touching a button and it adjusts to the right setting.
It has a 1.6 litre dustbin that can be easily emptied and we needed to after one go with it. Not because we’re messy people but just because our old vacuum cleaner had lost it’s suck and this one was powerful. It gave us confidence to know that the carpets and house was now clean.
When you look at the Dyson DC40 you think there is no hose but the design is so clever that the hose makes up the handle so a flick of a lock and there you have a hose which can extend an impressive long way. You’ll be able to leave the vacuum cleaner downstairs while taking the hose all the way upstairs which is a massive help as we’d usually have to hold our old one while cleaning the stairs.
Now we’ve used a Dyson we will never change from one, it weighs just over 6kg so it’s lightweight and it also comes with a few extra attachments to get into those corners. All we need to do now is remember to clean and wash out the filters.
