One thing we always try and drum into our children is that it's important to live a happy and healthy life. That's all about eating right and also being active.
Luckily both of my girls are good when it comes to being active and they are always full of energy. Once a week they both have swimming lessons and they have done this for the past year or so and seem to really enjoy this.
As well as this they both walk to and from school everyday which is a good 15 - 20 minute walk so they are easily getting their fair share of exercise. When it comes to eating they both enjoy their vegetables with their dinners and Aly especially normally has and 6-7 portions of fruit.
28th of January marked the launch of Sainsbury’s Active Kids 2015 campaign, which aims to help children lead healthier, more active lifestyles. Running since 2005, the scheme is fronted by three inspirational ambassadors:
● Premier League footballing ace Daniel Sturridge
● Swimming legend Ellie Simmonds
● World record-breaking sprinter Jonnie Peacock
You can collect Active Kids vouchers when shopping at Sainsbury’s to donate to your local school or group. These can then be exchanged for an exciting range of active and cooking equipment
Active Kids vouchers can be collected at all Sainsbury’s stores, petrol stations and when ordering groceries online (you just have to ask the delivery driver!). The vouchers can then be redeemed by schools and groups for a range of cookery and sporting equipment. Participating organisations include primary and secondary schools, Scout and Girlguiding groups as well as sports clubs.
One voucher is earned for every £10 spent in a single transaction at Sainsbury’s Supermarkets, and one is earned for every £5 spent in a single transaction at Sainsbury’s Local stores. Items in the catalogue range from 11 vouchers for a cooling tray (for cookery lessons), up to a large treasure chest costing 21,554 vouchers. Vouchers can be collected until 5th May but redeemed all year.
If you want to win £200 worth of Sainsbury’s vouchers, just fill in the Rafflecopter form. You can also win signed merchandise by the ambassadors. To increase your chances of winning, you can tweet or post a Facebook update about the campaign showing a picture of your vouchers.
The deadline for entries is midnight on Saturday, 11th April 2015.
