For the first time ever we treated ourselves to a little break without the children. We've had the odd overnight stay in London without them but this was the first time where it was 3 nights. This is a trip we'd been planning for about 12 months and was really looking forward to it. The girls would be staying with their grandparents and they too were looking forward to staying with them...mainly because they get treated to all sorts while there.Read More
It's really no secret that I love taking moon photos, with this in mind I thought I'd write a little post about Taking Photos of the Moon and the settings I use and the results I get from my little camera. I'd like to point out that I am no expert, I'm not the greatest photographer but I seem to get pretty good results from my simple point and shoot camera. If you look at my Instagram profile you'll see that every week or so I will be standing outside taking a photo of the moon.Read More
There's just something about visiting the beach in the Winter. The crowds have gone and normally the skies are better. Granted I wouldn't want to visit when it's raining or really windy but the sunny cold days are ideal for seascapes.
As a destination, Brighton offers photographers everything. If you travel by train you're greeted with Brighton's famous The Lanes, where you'll find shops, graffiti walls and lots of things to take photos of.Read More
We're fully deep into December, there is no getting away from Christmas. I thought it was time to head out into the woodland and have a look for signs of Christmas.
Our Christmas tree is up and Mia has taken to playing Christmas songs on repeat. We have the school play coming up and the girls have been digging deep into their advent calendars.
Although it's not officially Winter until the 22nd December, for me the start of December is the start.Read More
We visited the beautiful town of Beaumaris as we'd been in a local town and fancied visiting a town with some shops and places to look around. Driving into the town it looks like a historic place kind of like Lewes in East Sussex or possibly Padstow in Cornwall.
The previous places we'd visited in North Wales had so much to offer but this time we wanted gift shops, ice creams and to admire and enjoy a relaxing walk around a town.Read More
Whilst staying in North Wales we had plans to get out as much as possible and see a lot of different things. We have a soft spot for a castle or two...or rather I do.
We looked at all the ones local to Bangor and most places seemed to say that Penrhyn Castle is the best one around and the views are also stunning.Read More
When we stayed in Bangor in the summer we had planned a beach day and after looking online we found that Llandudno was the best around. This was a 20-minute drive for us and what grabbed us was that is had arcades, a town to visit and a beach.Read More
You can tell when the weather improves and Spring is on its way by the fact that the girls want to go on a walk in the local woods. Last weekend with the weather warming up a little bit the girls asked if we could have a walk in the woods. It was a little muddy but there were lots of signs of Spring plus it gave me the chance to grab some photographs. As a bonus the girls also let me take a few photos of them...this doesn't normally happen.Read More
This week it's been a little on the cold side but that does mean the morning skies have been beautiful.
This was taken one morning this week and I liked the frozen grass with the lovely colours in the sky.Read More
2017 had begun and I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
It's time to pick my favourite photo for December. Every month I pick someone to win a canvas from PhotoBox from everyone that links up to #MySundayPhoto. As always thank you so much to everyone that joins in on a Sunday and makes it a special link up every week.
Right my favourite photo this month comes from John of DadBlogUK who linked up with this beauty.Read More
