#MySundayPhoto - My Photos from the Week

#MySundayPhoto - My Photos from the Week

I thought I’d try something a little different this year. With #MySundayPhoto ending at the end of 2018 I wanted to keep posting on a Sunday and so I think I’m going to post my photos from the previous week that I’ve shared on Instagram.

My focus this coming year really is on Instagram and growing that. It’s the social media platform that I enjoy the most. Instead of sharing photos everyday what I’m finding works for me is sharing a photo every other day.

Merry Christmas!

I wanted to take a photo of a Christmas tree to share on the weekend before the big day.

This tree is located at the top of School Hill in Lewes. I thought a long exposure created an interesting effect and something a little different.

OOO I am not a fan of the dark mornings but every now and then we get treated to something a little bit special.

Whilst on my way into Lewes the other day I could see the sun starting to rise and I knew if I made the effort I could get a nice photo of the mist covering the trees as the sun added colour to the sky.

#MySundayPhoto - In The Mist

The beauty and calmness of a misty morning. An area I’ve walked many times but with the addition of mist, it adds a blanket of beauty.

This image has had the colour drawn out of it as I personally think this works better on this type of photo.

My Local Area

My Local Area

As a photographer we’re always looking at locations to take photographs and we can all be guilty of missing what’s right in front of us. My local area doesn’t have those rolling hills, a bustling street-life but what it does have is beautiful woodland.

Beautiful Lewes

Beautiful Lewes

A slightly different angle of Harvey’s Brewery this time. It was taken on the banks of the River Ouse and it’s not usually accessible but this time I made the effort and I think it was worth it.

The sun was starting to make an appearance in the early morning sky.

Deep into Autumn

Deep into Autumn

I'm heading deep into Autumn, I'm not even sorry about it.

I love that my profile is transforming from blue skies and light colours to reds, yellows, oranges and all those rich tones.

Time to embrace the seasons.

This week in Lewes it’s been their annual bonfire celebration, this is one of the largest bonfire events in the UK and people from all around the World come to visit.

On the morning after I thought I’d have a little walk around the town and up by the castle I came across this quaint looking lane.

Lewes Light Festival

Lewes Light Festival

Lewes as a town often put on remarkable events. It’s the location for one of the biggest 5th November celebrations in Europe. Lewes has a unique feel to it, full of history and it offers so much for what is a fairly small town.

A castle, Anne of Cleves house, a wonderful river, Harvey’s Brewery and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

There is a definite change in the weather this week. The warm days have been swapped for cold days, we even had a frost yesterday morning.

What is does mean is that the fall colours are everywhere which is the best bit of this time of year.

Last weekend Lewes held their annual Light Festival, this is where certain parts of the town is lit up. Buildings like the town hall, castle and a few houses are brightly decorated for 3 evenings during October.

One of my favourite parts was where they lit up a group of trees and used a smoke machine to add drama.

Last week I was embracing Autumn and then this week the weather has sent us back to Summer. The week has been filled with sunshine and warm weather.

This was taken on a walk by the River Ouse in Lewes on a bright clear morning.
