Hidden in the mist.
Can you see The Shard hidden in the morning mist?
This was was right outside our hotel, a lovely way to start the day. It's still one of my favourite buildings to take photos of.
I love this view of London. The beautiful City Hall sitting on the South Bank. Most photos are taken from the North Bank looking towards it or from next to City Hall but this was captured on the river. I love capturing photos on landmarks but putting my own switch on it.
The reflections in the glass just jump out of the photo. This was taken aboard a @citycruises Thames river cruise.
Sometimes you know a hotel is going to have good views, namely when you stay near a beach. However when you stay in London it can be very hit and miss, we've had views that involved a load of dustbins, one of a brick wall.
We stayed in one hotel that had the London Eye as it's view...now that was a good one.
The other day we went on a Thames cruise from Tower Bridge down towards Westminster and you get to see a completely different angle of London.
If you want something to do when in London we fully recommend it.

One of my favourite things to do during spring and summer is just to walk around London and take photos, capturing things I hadn't seen before or just trying a different angle of a building.
This got me thinking about a photography project that you can join in with and it might even keep the children entertained and you'll get to see different parts of London.
I love visiting London, I'm only an hour outside of the city and don't visit it as much as I should. This will change in the next school holidays as we're taking the girls up there for a little trip and a hotel stay, this will be the first time they've really visited.
Last week I planned a day in London to take some photos. When I set out I took both my Pixel phone and also dSLR, and the thinking was that I would see if I could take photos that I'd be happy with just with my phone. My Nikon was simply there as a back-up option.
The other day I headed up to London to take a few photos for a project. Whilst walking around I visited a tube station that offers a unique view of St Paul's Cathedral.
The sun was shining, the sky bright blue it was the perfect day for photography in London.
I thought about taking the light out in the middle but I hate removing things from photos that would normally be there.
Oh this was taken on the Pixel 2.
