The View of Sheffield Park

The View of Sheffield Park

So it's meant to be a little bit cooler today which is very welcome after about 40 days of back to back heat.

Everything is in need of water, there are fields around here that were lush green a few weeks back and now look brown.

This is Sheffield Park from a few weeks back.

Waterlilies

Waterlilies

Sheffield Park is quite possibly my happy place, it's so beautiful no matter what time of the year you visit. At the moment it's bursting with colour especially the waterlilies.

The waterlilies are looking amazing across all the ponds at @sheffield_park_and_garden, make sure you pop along to their Waterlily Festival starts on Saturday 9 June.

Honestly it won't disappoint.

#MySundayPhoto - National Trust Colours

It's at this time of year when National Trust gardens really come into their own, the flowers, the trees and the wildlife.

Our local garden Sheffield Park is simply stunning, they have the most beautiful waterlilies filling the ponds. Mix this with the wonderful rhododendrons their really isn't a better sight at this time of the year.

The Calm and Peaceful

The Calm and Peaceful

When you've been in a city for a break and come back to the countryside you realise just what you've got. The fresh air, the open green spaces and the lack of huge crowds.

We're so lucky to have this on our doorstep and I think sometimes we forget that.

All the Colour

National Trust properties and gardens are one of my favourite places to visit, they're always looking so perfect. Just down the road from us is the wonderful Sheffield Park and the other afternoon it was looking stunning.

Across one of the lakes, the waterlilies were really showing off. Over the next month, they've got their annual waterlily festive and it looks like it will be amazing.

SmugMug

So I've dived into the World of SmugMug. I'm still trying to get to grips with it but I've uploaded a few images which you can view on my profile

I need to add titles and tags and all the fun stuff but it's getting there.

I love the calmness, a view filled with autumn.

I wonder how many people have drawn inspiration from walking around this pond? There are often painters or writers sitting around it and taking in the scene.

Favourite #MySundayPhoto of October

So we've entered November and that means it's time to pick a photo from the brilliant #MySundayPhoto link ups and this week my favourite photo is this one from Mum of Three World.

I love the colours in this and sums up October perfectly.

Flashback Video

This was an old video I made over a year ago for a Huawei phone I was testing out. Sheffield Park is always beautiful but in autumn it really shines.

I just can't get enough of autumn colours. The drama in the clouds, the colours in the trees...it all makes for the perfect time to get outside taking photos.

If you've been lacking inspiration or lost a little passion with photography this time of year is the perfect time to fall back in love.

Weird Sky

What was up with the sky yesterday?

The sky pretty much in all of the South of England has a yellow/red glow about it. To describe it best I would say that it felt like an eclipse.

This photo probably doesn't do it justice.
