Editing Sony A7iii RAW Photos from Jared Polin

The A7iii is the latest full-frame mirrorless camera from Sony and it's their 'entry-level' one. It's a 24.2mp all singing all dancing, 690+ focus points, touch-screen, 4K recording camera.

Priced at £2,000 for a professional camera it's not too expensive, don't get me wrong it's expensive but not compared to D4 iv or D850.

#MySundayPhoto - Arrival of Spring?

#MySundayPhoto - Arrival of Spring?

I took this photo in the middle of the week when it seemed like spring was ready to make an appearance. Green grass, colour in the morning sky and slightly improved weather.

Since then we've had rain, wind and over the weekend more snow. It wasn't as much as last time but it gave everything a light dusting.

Beautiful Snow Filled Photography

Beautiful Snow Filled Photography

Let's recap, the UK was pretty much covered in snow for nearly a week. Everyone seems to have seen at least a dusting, in the South we had a fair amount from Monday night to Thursday with it being washed away over the weekend.

As a photographer, this gave me the first real opportunity of taking some photos where the focus is snow, the aim is to capture snow photos that blow you away.

#MySundayPhoto - Snow

I think this might be one of the first times I've actually photographed snow properly.

I set out early morning on the first day of the snow before anyone else had set foot on the snow. This is the local woods where I have featured many times but it's never looked as beautiful as this.

It was certainly worth the effort.

Mobile Memory Solutions from Sandisk

Mobile Memory Solutions from Sandisk

I bet everyone has the same issue when out taking photos on location, or when on holiday...the fact our phones and tablets run out of memory quickly. It's more difficult to transfer stuff using Dropbox or another cloud system so you want a quick and easy solution.

Sandisk has a few products for this very reason.

For the past few week's I've been trying these out and I love the usability of them and the freedom they give me.

Getting the best out of dual slot memory cards

Getting the best out of dual slot memory cards

Today we're talking memory cards...more specifically dual memory cards.

If you've recently bought yourself a new high-end camera you would have found it's more often than not got dual card slots.

With the professional bodies from Nikon, Canon or Sony you can pick which card type you'd prefer such as XQD, SD or Compact Flash. Normally you can buy a version that has two slots the same which is perfect but for some reason, Nikon thought it would be a good idea to have one XQD slot and one SD slot in the new D850 meaning you've got to purchase two different types of cards.

#MySundayPhoto - Reflection

This is the cold Pells Pool, opening for the new season soon but at the moment I certainly don't fancy a swim in there.

I'm pretty pleased with the way the reflection came out on this one, I think the slightly green water and the hint of sun trying to warm the day up helps.

London Photography using the Google Pixel 2

London Photography using the Google Pixel 2

I love visiting London, I'm only an hour outside of the city and don't visit it as much as I should. This will change in the next school holidays as we're taking the girls up there for a little trip and a hotel stay, this will be the first time they've really visited.

Last week I planned a day in London to take some photos. When I set out I took both my Pixel phone and also dSLR, and the thinking was that I would see if I could take photos that I'd be happy with just with my phone. My Nikon was simply there as a back-up option.

#MySundayPhoto - St Paul's

The other day I headed up to London to take a few photos for a project. Whilst walking around I visited a tube station that offers a unique view of St Paul's Cathedral.

The sun was shining, the sky bright blue it was the perfect day for photography in London.

I thought about taking the light out in the middle but I hate removing things from photos that would normally be there.

Oh this was taken on the Pixel 2.
