The day that we visited Marwell Zoo it was a beautiful sunny day and the girls were very excited to see the animals. Too be honest we've made a bit of a habit of visiting zoos but they seem to be getting more and more interested in the animals rather than just running on to the next enclosure.
When we visited the giraffes there was a platform that went into the enclosure so you was pretty much eye to eye with them. Aly's favourite bit was seeing the zebras which are her favourite animals. They had a massive field to enjoy and unfortunately they didn't come to close to us.
Walking around the zoo you'll see quite a few play areas which is always a good way to break up the day. As a bribe to get the girls off of the climbing frames we mentioned the word food and that seemed to do the trick. There is a few picnic areas but we decided to go to the Cafe Graze which had a wide choice from hot meals to sandwiches. It was a much needed refuelling and gave us a burst of energy for the afternoon.
In the zoo grounds there is also the original Marwell Hall and the gardens also are open to look around and you can enjoy a lovely picnic on the lawns. The gardens are perfect and I believe you can hire the Hall for functions and special occasions.
The girls seemed to really enjoy themselves and it was a really good day out. If you're looking for something to do over the Summer Holidays take a look at the Hampshire's Top Attractions website
