Mia The Baking Queen | Family Stories

It’s been such a long time since I posted anything even remotely family related. It’s been a conscious decision but with a shift in the photography and content being created I thought it was important to address this.

With the rain battering down and the wind howling outside it felt like the only place to be was in the kitchen making treats and memories. This wasn’t some homely cottage with an open fire and an Aga warming all those around even though it might have felt like it.

Like so many of their friends, they spend so much of their time face first on a computer, being overrun with Minecraft, Roblox and whatever the latest must play game is. It was actually a welcome relief when Mia asked if she could do some baking. We were even more excited when we discovered that jam tarts were the chosen treat to bake.

I wanted to take a few people in a natural style, no staging, no adding lighting just snapping the photos in a capturing the moment kind of way. To clear the clutter of the kitchen and to take away any distractions I converted them all to black & white and edited them to give a more timeless feel to them.
