When we stayed in Bangor in the summer we had planned a beach day and after looking online we found that Llandudno was the best around. This was a 20-minute drive for us and what grabbed us was that is had arcades, a town to visit and a beach.
What we didn't realise was that Llandudno actually has two beaches, one at either end of the main road. We parked in a car park mid way on the road and walked back to 'the beach' and what we discovered was that this was the West Beach.
I would guess that no one knew there was two beaches as the West Beach was completely empty and also the most amazing beach.
After an hour or so on the West Beach, we caught the little road train which shuttles between the two beaches and headed to the North Beach which was totally packed.
This is where the amusements and shopping area is. They have a traditional pier which arcades, games and food huts. After some warm donuts the girls went on a few rides and we had a gentle walk along the pier.
If you're looking for a beach to visit or two make sure you visit Llandudno. If you want a beach to yourself then head to the West Beach and then like us when it gets towards lunch head over to the North Beach.
I'll leave you with a few more photos.
