Return to the Countryside

London Town

The past weekend was spent in London, a place that never seems to stand still. I don't get up to London as much as I would like. There is always something changing in London and more and more things being built.

When staying in London I tend to stay at the same hotel and this year they gave me a room with quite a nice view, a view that involved The Shard, The Gerkin and Canary Wharf.

Daily Photo - Countryside

As much as I love London you can't beat the peace and quiet of the countryside. After stopping off on the way to work this is the view I found, for me nothing can top the beautiful blue sky and lush greenery of Sussex.

The view was crying out to be photographed. I grabbed my trusty Olympus OM-d EM10 with the Olympus 14-42mm 3.5 - 5.6 lens which at the moment never leaves my camera. Unfortunately I'd left my tripod in the office so I had to go handheld with this photo.

Just lately I've got into the habit of shopping in RAW which takes a little longer to process but does give you more options in production. As it was a beautiful sunny day I kept the ISO at 200 and lined up the shot. I was pretty happy with the way it came out but decided in Lightroom to give the blue and green a little boost and with the addition of a Lightroom HDR preset it gave the effect I was looking for.

The difficulty of this shot was only 6/10 as it was crying out to be captured and the production was simply a case of making the photo more vibrant.
