As a family we like to try days out and do things a little bit different. Theme parks and things like that are fun and we do enjoy them but when we get the chance we like to go to something a little bit unique.
Last Summer we headed down to Brighton for a brilliant event called the Sand Sculpture Festival. This was a collection of all these amazing works of art that have been completely made of sand. Included in the collection was a range of animals, various famous landmarks and even a sand Hollywood sign.
The work that went into these designs were amazing and some of them looked like carvings from wood. Seeing things like this made me realise just how bad my artwork used to be at school.
Our next plan is to try and get to see some of the amazing ice sculptures across the World. Whenever the snow starts to fall we all get outside and see what we can create. Often what we make is a weird looking snowman.
These ice sculptures are stunning to look at and everytime I see one I am amazed at how they manage to create them. One slip and the piece of art is ruined. I have also always wondered how they manage to make them without it melting too quickly.
Looking at some of the photos from the Ice sculptures it seems there is nothing that can’t be made from ice, this includes model buildings, slides and amazingly an ice bar. Too be honest I have enough trouble making ice cubes.
What amazing and unique family events have you been to?
