Last weekend I was invited to the latest Blog On conference which was also the first ever Blog On Cymru. As a little background BlogOn was started by Laura from tiredmummyoftwo and for Cymru she was assisted by TheBoyandMe and Debbie from anorganisedmess.
I was invited to speak in the Working With Brands session which I will cover in another post and go into a bit more detail. But journey to started on a train in East Sussex just after 1pm and ended at about 6pm in a local Premier Inn after being picked up at the station by DadNeedsDecaf who also showed me the sights of Cardiff.
The conference was held on Saturday at a place called the Sherman Cymru theatre which was a great building for this and slightly different from all the other blog conferences as it was pretty much all in one room which I enjoyed. A few introductions and boom straight into the first talk which happened to be Working with Brands which involved myself, and was an audience participation and I thought it went well. Again I will cover this more in a separate post.
Up next same lunchtime and a little break before we headed into the afternoon talks. For me the first session of the afternoon was about Social Media and featured the brilliant Aly Hodge from Bug, Bird & Bee who knows everything there is to know about Google+ and Deborah from Family Days, Tried & Tested who have the most amazing Facebook page and I urge you all to go and have a look. It was a great session and I picked up a few tips which will come in very handy.
Now it was time for a very important part of the day...CAKE TIME!!! And also the raffle draw which saw £252 raised for the Noahs Ark Appeal. So cake time was followed by an amazing photography session run by the awesome Capture by Lucy. This session was hands on and was a great chance to use lots of props and pick up lots of tips from Lucy.
Take a look at Lucy's Instagram page and you'll see all her amazing photos, her photos inspire me daily and not only that but she's someone I've met a few times and always makes time to speak and is friendly to everyone. Now to go out prop buying!!
That brought a close to the talks and it was time for a final goodbye and the closing keynote from Karin of Embrace Happy who taught us "Not every day is good but there is good in every day"
All that was left was the goodie bags and oh my word they were amazing....yes we were given two bags!! Both rammed full of lots of goodies for the girls to enjoy.
It was a brilliant weekend and I got to meet bloggers who I'd never met before and catch up with others that I've spoken to before. Thank you to everyone that made the weekend enjoyable.
